The Community Management Project aims to provide a space for discussions on the development and management of open-source communities. There are several drivers:
- professionalization
- developing a literature of community management
- community
What is community? And what is community management? What is it that we do? More directly, how is what we do essential to modern open source projects? (And what is a "modern open-source project"?)
Mail List Discussion
We are using dev@community.tigris.org, and urge all new members to read over the archives. The single thread, so far, has been: Introduce yourself. We'd like to get discussions going beyond that, but first, let's get to know each other. So, post a note indicating who you are, what you do, what you think might be useful about this project, and what you'd like to raise as a topic (or topics) of discussion.
Members
We are community managers or otherwise engaged in managing open-source productive communities. This project is open to any person similarly engaged or who is interested in what it means to manage or lead an open-source community. Mail lists are where discussions take place. They are all shielded from spam, so you must subscribe to post.
